FSFA Sunshine Cup Competition Rules
This competition is an Interpretive Competition for skilled designers. The Futuristic Design must be placed on a pedestal provided by FSFA that is approximately 30" high with a 12"x12" top.
The Entry fee is $75.00 members and contestants must be registered for the Annual Convention. Entry fees are non- refundable. Contestants must be members of FSFA International.
All designs must be contained in the 36" wide by 36" deep by 48" high from the top of the pedestal. The contestants will have 1 hour to complete their design. This includes cleanup. Preparation of props may be done in advance. All floral, fresh and plant material work must be completed on site during the predetermined time slot. No design can consist of more than 10% silk or dried material. Designers may not have an assistant at any time during the one hour competition. An assistant may help you place your prop in the design area prior to start of competition. Each designer must provide all fresh floral and foliages, props, tools and supplies for their composition. FSFA will only provide the space and pedestal . No trading, sharing or borrowing will be allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification. The use of electricity will not be provided or permitted in your design.
Each design will be judged by three or more accredited judges. Each judge will be assigned and identified by a number. Judges will not be allowed access during the competition. Designs will be scored on the following categories: Interpretation of Category (choice of materials, effectiveness of design, suitability of design, theme presentation, creativity) Principles & Elements of Design (line & rhythm, physical balance, focal areas – areas of dominance, scale-proportion, textural interest, composition – harmony – unity, form, color, depth, visual balance) Mechanics (economic use of materials, construction-stability, mechanics, organization of materials, finish of design).
In the event there are less than three contestants by the published deadline, the competition will not take place. The other two contestants will be notified immediately. Should a registered contestant not show at the time of the competition causing less than three contestants, the competition will continue.

Tools will not be provided. Competitors Must bring their own tools.
Tools allowed: Floral Knife, Wire Cutters, Ribbon Sheers, Stem Cutters, Needle Nose Pliers and a Stapler
