Mid - Season Summit Postponed
A Letter from Your President
Part of the responsibility of being a board member of any organization is to make every decision with the members, vendors and volunteers well-being always in mind. In light of the current information available concerning the huge spike in covid cases and what is projected over the next few weeks, your Executive Board and Board of Directors have many concerns about continuing plans for Mid-Season.
Although it is a difficult decision to make, we have unanimously agreed to postpone Mid-Season 2022 for the safety of all that would attend. With plans already well underway, your board has elected to move the current location of Steinhatchee Landing Resort in Steinhatche, Florida, to Mid-Season 2023. This will allow us to focus our energy and efforts on the plans to hold the Annual Convention in July of this year in conjunction with the Gateway to the America's Cup. Convention will be held at the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek at Walt Disney World July 22-24, 2022. The Designer of the Year Competition as well as the mock Certification/FSMD prep test will be moved to Convention 2022. Stay tuned for more information on this adjustment soon.
For those of you who have already paid for registration, testing or competitions, your registrations will be cancelled and your money will be refunded. Refunds should be mailed to you within the next two weeks. We will also be working with the venues to cancel your reservations.
While we know this is very disappointing, It is in the best interest of you , our valued members. We thank you for your understanding.

FSFA Humanitarian Award Winner - Ann Martin
We salute Ann Martin AIFD for receiving the first FSFA Humanitarian Award for acts of humanitarian efforts to florists affected by the AIDS epidemic and catastrophic events. She spearheaded the creation of the Florida Florists Fund in order to help those who could not afford to pay for the costly health care and those who lost everything in fires, hurricanes and flooding. We celebrate Ann for her tireless commitment to all of the florists of the great sunshine state and to all of those she was able to help by raising funds, paying bills and assisting with dying friends.
Ann we the florists of Florida salute you!
