FSFA CARES is about caring for our Florist and our Community.
Inspired by Ann Martin AIFD, The first recipient of the FSFA Humanitarian Award and the person responsible for founding the AIFD Foundation Florida Florist Fund, Immediate Past President Deborah De La Flor established the FSFA Cares Program in 2019. Ann with the help of many FSFA members raised over $100,000 to help Florida florist who could not pay medical bills or were affected by a catastrophic events.

The purpose of the FSFA Cares Program is to bring awareness of members of the State Association who work with their local non-profits. Many of the FSFA members work behind the scenes tirelessly helping those in need, the underprivileged and volunteering their time to spread smiles with the gift of flowers.
In October of 2019, The FSFA partnered with The Sunshine Foundation in Davenport, FL. Sunshine Foundation's sole purpose is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children ages three to eighteen, whose families cannot fullfill their requests to due financial strain that the child's illness may cause. The Sunshine Foundation's most popular request is a trip to Orlando to visit Disney World or one of the many theme parks. The Sunshine Foundations pays for transportation of these families to their Dream Village in Davenport to house them and provides tickets to the theme parks. Since 1976, over 20,000 children have realized their dreams.
With donations from vendor partners, FSFA provided the centerpieces for the Sunshine Foundation's 10th Annual Gala. FSFA was proud to be a small part of this incredible event knowing that somewhere out there...a child will realize their dream.
The Florida State Florist Foundation has entered into an agreement to join with and become a part of the AIFD Foundation. The new fund, now called the Florida Florist Fund, allows Florida Florists to take advantage of a greater amount of scholarships and grant monies, while still also adhering to the original mission of the Florida Foundation to assist with Florida florists suffering from the effects of catastrophic illness or natural disasters. The Florida Florist Fund Symposium Scholarship offers financial assistance to attend the annual AIFD National Symposium. The Florida Florist Fund Southern Conference Scholarship is available to a Florida non-AIFD floral designer who need financial assistance to attend their first AIFD Southern Conference.
